I have been pushing a lot of things to the back burner lately, but I decided to finally finish with this photoshoot I did with my friend Lauren. We managed to get a few shots off outside while the sun was going down, we have had so much rain this summer it was a surprise to see the sun. I also had a chance to try out my new ring light that I had put together, I was pretty happy with the results, but I would like to make another one to increase the output some more. I will be making a post about on making my ring light when I put together my new one. I thought the shoot went very well, I still have some more ideas that I wanted to try, but that will have to wait for another day. Looking forward to shooting with her again!
Notes: So it has been a little while since I have posted a new photo up, but I have been doing a lot of shooting lately. A lot of what I have been shooting has had to do with liquid lately and this is a good example of what I have been doing. If you want to see more in this set you can see them at Flickr

Here are the pictures I got from my cousin Amanda and her husband Dana’s wedding which took place on May 15, 2009 at the Nonantum in Kennebunkport, Maine. It was a beautiful wedding and the two of them are in so much love, and we all had a great time. I hope that everyone that was there or wasn’t there will enjoy all of the photos of this wonderful day. This was mainly the pictures of the ceremony and reception and I have more photos I will be posting up from that day.
Just so everyone knows, if you would like to have prints made, please email me first because these photos have been sized down to fit a computer screen. Email me at: samuel@611productions.com with the picture numbers that you would like to have for prints and I will email you the original full size photos for prints. If you would like a hard copy of all of the photos you can also email me and I can put the original full size photos on a CD and mail them to you. I hope all of you had a great time!

Here is the first photo to start of my “Photo of the Day” blog, I hope to have a new pic everyday, but we will see how it goes. I am going to try to have a new picture everyday, but if not I will grab a photo I have taken in the past or a photo I am working on in Photoshop. What I hope to accomplish with this project is to bring in some creativity, inspiration and motivation, because lately I have been lacking all of it. I have been looking at a lot of other photographers photos and blogs, and it has been helping me get some ideas to work with. I would really like to find a photo group or club around where I live to get involved with, but there doesn’t seem to be anything like that around my area. Maybe I will just have to start a club to or just find some good photographers around my area to bounce ideas off of, so we shall see!
Today’s Photo:
Taken: May 9, 2009
Location: University of Agusta, Bangor Campus
Camera: Canon Xti
Lens: Canon 18-55mm 3.5 to 5.6, shot at 18mm
Processed: Photomatix 3 and Adobe Photoshop CS 4
Notes: I have been playing around with Photomatix 3 and I went out looking for things to shoot to play with in the program. I found this huge satellite that belongs to Maine Public Broadcasting and it just happened to be what I was looking for. I took multiple exposures 2 stops apart, shot in raw at different angles and distances and this was the shot that caught my eye.
This is not a new concept but it is fairly new to me so I wanted to post up one of the HDR photos I have been working on. If you don’t know, HDR stands for it is High Dynamic Range, basically you take a few different exposures and you merge them together to make one image. I cheated a little with this photo, I shot it in raw and then made a lighter and darker exposure and merged them together in Photomatix and some editing in photshop. I think it came out good for one of my first attempts, and I plan on doing plenty more, if you have any comments or suggestions for me please let me know I would love to hear them.
I decided to make up some business cards to hand out to people to get my name out there and try to get things moving. I whipped up the design in Photoshop with the template that was provided from VistaPrint, who also printed my cards. They made the process very easy and have all kinds of tips for making your business cards and I would go back to them again for more. Anyway here are how they came out they are front and back and Altoids tins make great a card holder, feedback is always welcome!
I am very happy to say that after 4 mind numbing days of uploading, deleting, tech emails, forum posts, punching my keyboard and pounding my head into the wall, I am very excited to say that my site is finally up and running. Let’s just say it wasn’t the most graceful of starts, but I am glad to be online and you can expect many more updates and changes to come. The whole purpose of my site is to get my get my work, creativity, and art out for the world to see. If you are interested in any services that I provide please feel free to contact me for pricing or to discuss ideas.
That is enough business for now, let me tell you a little about me, in my free time I like to tear into old electronics and salvage the parts for other pointless projects which you will probably find on here. I also like to paint, not with tube paint or brushes, instead with spray paint, but not really graffiti style either, think more Bob Ross with spray paint, news paper and plastic lids from butter dishes. I am also a big fan of the outdoors, I live in Maine, so winters are spent snowboarding and my summers are spent going south to the coast or north into the woods. I am very laid back and easy to get along with and love experiencing new things, I hope you enjoy my site and I hope to hear from all of you who visit my site!
