Lauren

I have been pushing a lot of things to the back burner lately, but I decided to finally finish with this photoshoot I did with my friend Lauren.  We managed to get a few shots off outside while the sun was going down, we have had so much rain this summer it was a surprise to see the sun.  I also had a chance to try out my new ring light that I had put together, I was pretty happy with the results, but I would like to make another one to increase the output some more.  I will be making a post about on making my ring light when I put together my new one.  I thought the shoot went very well, I still have some more ideas that I wanted to try, but that will have to wait for another day. Looking forward to shooting with her again!

Notes: I had seen some photos of people dropping lemons into water and some of people dropping limes into water, so I decided to combine the two ideas into one.  After many different test shots to get the timing right I was finally able to pull of a few good shots, this shot seemed to jump out at me.  You can see more photos from this set on my Flickr account! Go out and try this, it is a little tough but lots of fun to see the results!

Notes: I got this idea from a tutorial posted over at Floboski Films on smoke photography.  It is a simple set up and alot of fun to see what images come from the smoke, add a little post in photoshop and this is what you get.  You can see some of my other smoke photos on Flickr and go out and try it for yourself!

Notes: This was taken over the past weekend on top of Cadillac Mountain in Bar Harbor, Maine.  Ashley, Alyssa, Aidan, and I decided to make a day trip to Bar Harbor and do the tourist thing and all that fun stuff. We all had a great time and some nice sun burns to show off. I did manage to get a few good photos, too.  I don’t know why I like this shot so much, I guess it is because he just walked over to this rock, no camera… no group of people… and took it all in!  It was such a great day to be outdoors and if you want to see some more of my shots just go to my Flickr page to check them out!

Notes: I was going to take some photos of a few things I was going to sell and this guy was sitting on the floor.  It’s about 3.5 inches wide and should not be living in the house, haha.  I am not usually creeped out by spiders, but when I was looking through my lens and saw this up close it creeped me out.  I never really knew how hairy spiders were, so that was kind of cool to see.  I didn’t kill the spider, they are good bugs, so I dropped it off in the trees by our neighbors house.

Notes: This day felt like the first day of summer, we got to go out in the kayaks and enjoy the sun and water.  It was a lot of fun and I am looking forward to enjoying many more weekends like this.  I also wanted a chance to try using flash outside and I was happy with the results!

Notes: I made a snoot tonight out of an empty can of chips and I wanted to test is out to see if it worked.  I use to have good size simpsons collection, that has been getting smaller everytime I move, and I thought Homer Simpson would be a good sport and model for me.  More photos can be found on my Flickr page of the whole family, and I will post a quick tutorial on how I made my snoot, it is so simple.
